Birthdays, trips, & late Father's Day!

Happy Birthday to you Babe! Jeff will turn the big 3-0 on the sixth of July! We celebrated a little early with his family because we were coming through Paris on our way back home from Dallas. A long weekend away to Dallas was part of his birthday gift from me. And a LONG trip it turned out to be!:) I'll explain later... Anyway, isn't his cake adorable? He was such a cute baby!

Tyler helped out a tad with the presents. I think he was more excited than Jeff!

Check out Faith's tired eyes. I think I heard her cry more this weekend than I have her entire little life! Her nose is running, she hates sleeping in the pack and play, and she is sick to death of her carseat!
Macky came over to celebrate with us at Brad and Georjeana's. It was really good to see him!
Taylor is teething I think. She kept making this hilarious face off and on all night. Mrs. Raylene said it reminded her of her grandmother who used to dip tobacco! But it doesn't matter, she's still a cutey pie whatever face she makes!

Looks like everybody's having a good time! Even Taylor got to snack on the homemade vanilla ice cream!

Taylor and Faith conversating while chillin in their bouncer and swing.

Faith was so glad to be out of that carseat! She's doing this scooting thing; not necessarily crawling, but close.
I was tired of my car seat too! This trip wore us all out! One thing is for sure, Faith loves her crib when it comes time to sleep all night long! She boycotted the play pen, which is what we brought for her to sleep in. Needless to say, NOBODY got 8 hours of sleep each night on this particular trip. In her defense, she didn't feel well; runny nose, watery eyes, and teeth coming in!

On Saturday while we were still in Dallas, we ran in our 5th 5k since mid-March. We're trying to run at least one each month. It's been so fun for us; not only is it good for you, but we get to spend some quality time with one another. I know that sounds cheesy, but it's true! So far we've placed in 4 out of the 5; our 1st race was really ugly (especially for me!) Here in Plano, we both won 1st in our age groups.

Don't ask. I wasn't ready for a picture.
Jeff always thinks he doesn't run well. Here he's giving the "thumbs down"; he's REALLY competitive and doesn't give himself nearly enough credit! He got a 1st place trophy for pete's sake!
They had a "kiddie" run and you may not be able to see them very well, but it was soooo cute to watch those little 3 and 4 y/o run a half mile!

Granny and Pop met us on Friday evening in Dallas to watch Faith while we went to the Malibu Speed Zone (it's like a souped up go-cart place for adults), and they also watched her while we ran the next morning. But 1st, we ate at The Cheesecake Factory; Yummmm.

Her 1st merry-go-round experience; she loved it!

Tired eyes again...

Jeff's favorite part of the trip=the PGA superstore!

Faith made her 1st craft for Dad's b-day. It's a fish that my VBS kids did last last week at church. I asked if I could bring one home. She had fun slobbering all over every piece of paper.

We stopped by my parents on the way home from a wedding weekend before last to celebrate Father's day with my parents.

Batman is recharging.
Funny faces from everybody!

Dad had a shy moment.

Father's Day weekend

Faith saying "Da Da"! Listen closely at the beginning or you'll miss it!

Jeff and I had the parents over to eat grilled hamburgers on Sunday afternoon for Father's Day; here's Faith telling all the men in her life, "Happy Daddy Day"! This is when Faith is the happiest=walking! With assistance of course! But she will wear you out just continually wanting to pull up on your fingers and walk around everywhere. It seems like she never gets tired of being mobile!

Patty-cake with the feet! The moms wanted to bring dessert, and man it was delicious.
Everybody sat around and chit chatted while the burgers were on the grill; that was probably my favorite part of the evening. I love just hanging out with my family; Jeff and I are so blessed with great parents.
Here are the moms relaxing and enjoying watching Faith roll around in the walker.
Pop got a kick out of something that Faith said apparently.
I thought this was a great shot!

Success with the passy!

As promised, here's the pacifier success story; she's had this down pat for about a week or so now.

Maybe you can tell who Faith looks like! Everybody either says, "Oh, she's Jeff Junior" or "She looks like her MaMa". What do you think?

Faith is sitting up really good these days. She's learned how to catch herself with her arms and how to lean in without falling over. Here she's reading her book (which bit her two days ago= little paper cut down her chin)! Aunt Georjeana got Faith this book and I think it's one of her favorites= "Jesus and Friends". Actually I think it just tastes the best!
If you enlarge this pic you'll be able to see her little tooth.
She can stand up for a short time on her own if she's up against something. She's pretty wobbly on those long legs though. It kind of reminds me of a newborn calf! I know, that's weird, but that's what comes to mind every time she stands!
She's really concentrating on that burp rag. She's saying to herself, "If Dad were here, he would just give it to me, instead of making me work for it!" :)
